Same-Day Emergency Response

Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Dehumidifiers, air movers, and daily moisture readings until the structure hits dry standard.

Serving Orange, Rockland & Westchester counties in NY and Bergen, Passaic, Essex & Hudson counties in North Jersey.

At a glance

We measure what's wet, size the equipment to the space and the wet load, monitor daily, and don't call it dry until the meters agree. At the end you get the drying log, which is the document your adjuster, your contractor, or a future buyer will ask for.

Content reviewed July 2026.

Call between 8am and 6pm, Sunday through Friday, and a person picks up. Closed Saturdays for Shabbat.

The work

What's included

Professional structural drying: low-grain refrigerant dehumidification, engineered airflow, daily logged moisture readings, and a written drying report showing your home reached dry standard.

  • Moisture meters, thermal imaging, and thermo-hygrometers on every job
  • Low-grain refrigerant (LGR) dehumidifiers sized to the space and the wet load
  • Air movers placed from the moisture map rather than spaced evenly
  • Daily monitoring visits with every reading logged until dry standard is met
  • Written drying log and photo set delivered when the job closes
  • Specialty drying for hardwood floors, plaster, and closed wall cavities

Process

What happens after you call.

  1. 01

    Establish the dry standard

Technician checking a thermo-hygrometer while air movers and a dehumidifier dry a basement floor

We meter unaffected materials in your home to set the target — 'dry' isn't a number off a chart, it's what your walls and floors read where the water never reached. Everything wet gets dried back to that baseline.

  2. 02

    Map the wet

Hygrometer reading 80 percent relative humidity during water damage monitoring in a bathroom

Every affected material gets metered and marked, and thermal imaging finds the pockets that look dry and aren't: under toe-kicks, behind vinyl base, inside stud bays. That map decides where the equipment goes.

  3. 03

    Set the equipment

Thermo-hygrometer confirming 43.8 percent humidity in a bedroom drying with air movers

Dehumidification capacity is calculated from the room volume and the class of water loss, LGR units go where the humidity load is highest, and air movers are aimed across the wet surfaces. Too little equipment and it never dries; too much runs up the bill for no benefit.

  4. 04

    Monitor daily

Air movers and an LGR dehumidifier drying a wet concrete basement slab

Materials dry at different rates, so we come back daily, log the readings, and reposition or pull equipment as sections hit standard. The log shows the readings dropping day by day, and if one material stalls we find out why.

  5. 05

    Verify & sign off

Kitchen half-wall opened to studs with air mover, dehumidifier and floor protection during drying

Nothing gets closed up, rebuilt, or carpeted until every mapped material reads at dry standard. You get the completed drying log and photos, which answer insurance questions now and inspection questions years from now.

Insurance

We work with your insurance, and we bill them directly

  1. 01

    Call us

We answer, ask what happened, and get a crew moving. Same-day emergency response on active water.

  2. 02

    We document everything

We take moisture readings and photos and write up a scope of work before drying starts, so your adjuster has the file from day one.

  3. 03

    We bill your insurer directly

We work directly with your insurance company on covered water and mold claims, so you're not fronting the full cost and chasing reimbursement.

Your deductible is still yours to cover, and we'll tell you that number before any work starts rather than after. You also don't need a claim to hire us. Plenty of our jobs are paid directly by the homeowner, and after the free inspection we'll say which way makes more sense for the damage you have.

Common problems

What we get called about most.

Another company left two fans for two days and called it dry

Fans move air; they don't remove water from it. Without dehumidification and metering, 'dry' only means the surface feels dry. We re-meter the loss, show you what's still wet, and finish the job with the right equipment and a written log.

Hardwood floors cupping after a leak

Cupped boards mean the bottom of the wood is wetter than the top. Caught early, panel drying systems and controlled dehumidification can pull hardwood back flat and save a refinish-only outcome. Waiting turns it into a replacement. We'll tell you which side of that line you're on.

A wall still reads wet behind fresh paint

Someone rebuilt before the structure was dry, and the meter finds it, usually after a musty smell or bubbling paint prompts the question. We open a small section, dry the cavity, and document the readings so it doesn't have to be opened a third time.

Insurance is questioning the drying bill

Equipment days have to be justified, and a daily log of readings is what does it. Ours shows what was wet, what equipment ran, and when each material hit standard, which is what a carrier asks for before paying that line item.

FAQ

Questions we get most.

What should I do in the first few hours after water damage?

Stop the water if you safely can, at the main shut-off or the fixture valve. If water is near outlets, cut power to that area at the breaker, but never stand in water to do it. Move what you can off wet floors, and don't run a household vacuum on standing water. Then call (845) 262-6530; the sooner extraction starts, the more we can save.

How long does it take to dry out a house?

Three to five days for most homes. It depends on what got wet, since drywall and carpet dry faster than hardwood, plaster, or subfloor, and on how long the water sat first. We take moisture readings daily and keep equipment running until the wet materials match dry ones nearby, not until the surface feels dry. Pulling equipment early leaves moisture inside the wall.

Can my carpet be saved after water damage?

It depends on the water and how long it sat. Clean supply water extracted quickly usually means the carpet survives, though the pad underneath typically gets replaced, since it holds water like a sponge and costs less to replace than to dry. Water that sat for days, sewage, or outside floodwater means the carpet comes out, because that's contamination rather than a drying problem. We'll tell you which one you have at the inspection.

How do you find moisture I can't see?

With moisture meters and thermal imaging. Water moves through drywall, along subfloor, and into wall cavities that look fine from inside the room. The meters test the materials themselves, thermal imaging shows the cool damp areas behind walls and under floors, and we dry against what those readings show. A surface that feels dry tells you very little; the reading inside the material is what decides when drying is done.

Will mold grow after water damage?

It can. Growth can start on wet materials within 24 to 72 hours, which is why drying should start the same day. If everything dried fast and completely, verified with moisture readings, mold is unlikely. If materials stayed damp inside walls or under floors, that's where growth shows up. A musty smell weeks after a leak usually means something didn't fully dry, and it's worth a look.
