Process
How the job goes.

Trace the source
UV light for biological spots, a moisture meter for anything musty, and a room-by-room search for what's producing the odor. A musty smell is treated as possible hidden moisture from the start.

Remove or neutralize the source
Enzyme and oxidizer chemistry on biological sources with full dwell time, extraction to pull out what's released, and removal when the material is too far gone. A urine-saturated pad gets replaced.

Clean what absorbed it
Odor soaks into whatever is porous nearby. Carpet, upholstery, and hard surfaces each get the treatment their material calls for, because smoke residue on a wall and pet odor in a carpet are different problems.

Scrub the air
HEPA air scrubbers cycle the room's air while treatments work, pulling particulate and odor carriers out of circulation instead of covering them with fragrance.

Verify the result
If the smell is gone, we're finished. If the meters found hidden moisture or suspected mold behind it, that turns into a free restoration inspection, because deodorizing can't fix a wet wall.

Pet smell that comes back on humid days
Old urine crystals rehydrate and release odor when the air gets damp, which means the source was never removed. UV inspection finds every contaminated spot, enzyme and oxidizer chemistry neutralizes them, and any spot soaked past the point of treatment gets flagged for replacement.
You bought a house from smokers
Nicotine residue coats walls, ceilings, and every soft surface, and it keeps releasing odor for years. We deep-clean what can be cleaned, treat the soft goods, and scrub the air. Decades of saturation can also need sealing and repainting, and we'll scope that rather than promise it away.
A musty basement smell no candle touches
A musty smell means moisture and microbial growth somewhere. Before quoting any deodorizing, we meter the space. If there's damp behind a wall or under the flooring, finding and drying that is the fix, and the inspection is free either way.
A sour smell after a small leak was 'fixed'
The plumbing got repaired, but the wet materials stayed. That sour smell is damp pad, drywall, or framing that never fully dried. We find it with meters, dry or remove it, and the smell goes with it. This one is water damage work more than odor work.

FAQ
Questions we get most.
Will mold grow after water damage?
It can. Growth can start on wet materials within 24 to 72 hours, which is why drying should start the same day. If everything dried fast and completely, verified with moisture readings, mold is unlikely. If materials stayed damp inside walls or under floors, that's where growth shows up. A musty smell weeks after a leak usually means something didn't fully dry, and it's worth a look.
Is mold in my house dangerous?
Mold can irritate eyes, nose, and throat, trigger allergic reactions like sneezing and skin rash, and aggravate asthma in people who have it. Sensitivity varies a lot from person to person. That's the EPA's position and ours. It's worth taking seriously, but it isn't the health catastrophe some sites describe. Mold is a moisture problem in the house, and it's a fixable one.
Do you use eco-friendly cleaning products?
Yes. Our standard residential line is non-toxic and biodegradable, chosen because we work in houses with kids, pets, and sensitivities every day. The rinse matters as much as the product: thorough extraction leaves no sticky residue in the fiber, which is what attracts soil back and causes irritation. Mention allergies or chemical sensitivities when you book and we'll use the mildest effective option.
Is the cleaning safe for my kids and pets?
Yes. The solutions we use in homes are child- and pet-safe at the dilutions we apply, and a thorough rinse means nothing harsh stays behind in the fiber. Keep kids and pets in another room during the work, mostly so nobody trips on hoses. Socks on damp carpet are fine right away; let pets back on once it's dry.
Can you get rid of odors in carpet and furniture?
Usually, yes, by treating the source instead of spraying over it. Pet accidents, smoke, cooking oils, and dampness each need different chemistry; enzymes break down pet odors, while smoke needs a different approach. One caveat: old urine that soaked into the carpet pad may need the pad replaced for the odor to go completely. If that's your situation, we'll tell you at the inspection.
