Local knowledge
What we see in New City
We're a restoration company first, so we pay attention to a town's housing stock and its moisture. Both affect cleaning work more than people expect:
On the ground
The Demarest Kill runs right through the hamlet center, one of the streams FEMA studies in detail for Rockland flood mapping. Homes near the brook corridor get fast-rising water in hard rain, even on quiet-looking suburban streets.
The housing stock
This is classic 1950s–70s basement country: finished rec rooms, mechanicals below grade, original footing drains now past sixty years old. When those drains silt up, water comes in at the slab seams, so we check the perimeter before assuming a plumbing cause.
Getting to you
The Palisades Parkway or the Thruway gets us here in about 35 minutes. Suburban driveways make staging easy; we can usually back the truck close to the door and keep hose runs short.
Common problems
The problems we're usually called about.
New-to-you house with unknown duct history
No records, previous owners with pets, and decades you know nothing about. A camera inspection settles it in minutes. If the runs are loaded you'll see it in the photos, and if they're clean you've got a baseline and saved the cost of the job.
One room barely gets airflow
A crushed flex run, a closed damper, or a blockage. Sometimes cleaning fixes it; sometimes it's a ductwork repair or a balancing job for an HVAC tech. We diagnose before quoting, because cleaning won't help if the duct is crushed.
Dust reappears on the furniture a day after cleaning the house
Sometimes it's the ducts. Often it's filtration: a low-grade filter, gaps at the filter rack, or leaky return runs pulling attic dust into the system. The camera inspection tells us which, and we'll say so even when the answer isn't duct cleaning.
Just finished a renovation and every register blows drywall dust
Construction dust is the clearest case for duct cleaning there is. Fine gypsum and sawdust load the runs and keep recirculating for months. One thorough source-removal cleaning after the contractors leave ends it.

FAQ
Questions we get most.
Can you get rid of odors in carpet and furniture?
Usually, yes, by treating the source instead of spraying over it. Pet accidents, smoke, cooking oils, and dampness each need different chemistry; enzymes break down pet odors, while smoke needs a different approach. One caveat: old urine that soaked into the carpet pad may need the pad replaced for the odor to go completely. If that's your situation, we'll tell you at the inspection.
How often should air ducts be cleaned?
Every three to five years for most homes, consistent with NADCA guidance. Clean sooner after a renovation, if you see mold or had water in the ducts, with heavy pet dander or a smoker in the house, or if they've never been done. We run a camera inspection first and show you what's in the ducts, and if the runs are clean we'll tell you to wait.
Is the cleaning safe for my kids and pets?
Yes. The solutions we use in homes are child- and pet-safe at the dilutions we apply, and a thorough rinse means nothing harsh stays behind in the fiber. Keep kids and pets in another room during the work, mostly so nobody trips on hoses. Socks on damp carpet are fine right away; let pets back on once it's dry.
Do you use eco-friendly cleaning products?
Yes. Our standard residential line is non-toxic and biodegradable, chosen because we work in houses with kids, pets, and sensitivities every day. The rinse matters as much as the product: thorough extraction leaves no sticky residue in the fiber, which is what attracts soil back and causes irritation. Mention allergies or chemical sensitivities when you book and we'll use the mildest effective option.
